I would use the -mod method from the very beginning. (I must have reinstalled this goddamn game 40 times in the past week!) Now, given the description, who here can help a newbie? Because frankly, I know thats a tall order, and I have no damn idea how to accomplish just about any of this.Īny takers for a little side project? (And I'm still trying to figure out how to change the whole -mod thing to work, that way I don't have to uninstall/reinstall. (Also, I would like him to be purchased at 30 power points or so, to make it fair.) Basically, my goal is to start the game, as I normally would, with Sauron in my arsenal, as lethal as ever. I dont want any amazingly fancy mods (besides this one!), I dont want to change the fairness of the game, nothing. I simply want to make him playable in the game. The radius/range I'd like to be close to 1500 or so, with a damage rating of between 2500-3500.Ĥ) I know full well thats a pain in the ass to do, however. (The ones from the Black Gate)ģ) When he dies, I'd like that little blast from the opening sequence. Summon forth 3 HORDES of Mordor Archers, & 3 lvl 10 mountain trolls. Summon the Witchking & 8 Nazgul, for approx. Aragorn's Elessar (Just because I want people to run away from me!) Aragorn's Heal Ability OR SpellBook version of Elven Heal HOWEVER, unlike the Balrog, and all allies, I would like to accomplish either A) he never dissappears, and/or b) if he does, his reload time is not very high at all.Ģ) I already know exactly what special abilities I would like him to have. To address the things that I am trying to accomplish -ġ) I WOULD very much like to have a PLAYABLE version of Sauron within my Isengard/Mordor ranks, but not the standard.įor example - I would like him to be like the Balrog, in the sense, that you summon him to appear. But its the hardcore, more advanced modding that I am literally JUST getting used to, within the past 2 days or so. Well, here is the thing - Give me an INI, and I'll kick its ass. There is a TRUCK LOAD of topics in our forum covering all of the above, but dont be afraid to ask for more help (just check to see if your question has been answered by someone else before starting new topics!).įinally, if you are still struggling with the summon allies spell, then post your code here so we can take a look at it for you - it FAR MORE easy for us to help you that way. I would stay away from this, until you're sure you understand the basic workings of the game.ġ) Make Sauron a buildable hero for Mordorģ) Go crazy and give him the ability to summon a couple of battalions of orcs (if you can get that to work, then doing the same thing via a spell should be reasonably straight forward). Hostiles' tutorial is made more complicated by the fact he is allowing a faction to summon heroes/units from another faction. A summon allies spell (or spell book editing in general) is not really the best place to start if you are new to modding in BFME. Set yourself a nice and simple goal to start with. Since I don't really know what your level of ability is, or how much you know about BFME modding. ANY help would be appreciated.ĮDIT: Dark Lord, you beat me by 5 minutes! I knew I shouldnt have stopped for that cup of coffee! If I'm bothering anyone, I apologize, thats not my intention. Once again, I am new, and I did scour the forums looking for specific answers to my questions. If I were to offer up this sauron.ini, would anyone be interested in creating a guide designed to include Sauron into the game? I KNOW this would be a pain in the ass, but someone had previously created a guide specifically designed for adding Haldir. I tried to use this sauron.ini file with the "Add a Hero" template previously, and it kept giving me game.dat errors, and would crash the game. I have a sauron.ini file which I got from someone on this forum, which has been modified to NOT have the glowing white shards present throughout his entire game. I see that in order to have Sauron playable, you have to enable the code. Or did that create Sauron, and my edits just arent working? IS IT just that I don't have a Sauron to summon as an ally? I'm just trying to figure out what I did wrong. Now, logically, the more I think about this, the more I realize - The reason I still have the freezing rain p[ower is more likely than not, because I am summonning a character/ally, which does not exist in my game. I downloaded his objects, which needed to be placed in the appropriate folders, and I modified all of my INI files EXACTLY like he mentioned. I found HOSTILE's tutorial, and attempted to edit my files using it. I have never added Sauron, Elrond, Isildur, or any other members to my roster. I have a virtually unmodded game, clean off of a fresh install. I'm new here, and I stumbled accross this site looking for BFME mods, obviously.
